Miami, FL— Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen joined The Century Council to bring Ask, Listen, Learn: Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix to the Hank Kline Boys and Girls Club today. In partnership with PE4Life, The Century Council has created an interactive activity that builds on the existing Ask, Listen, Learn program and encourages kids to “say ‘YES’ to a healthy lifestyle and ‘NO’ to underage drinking.” The new initiative is based on recent research by Harvard Medical School’s Dr. John Ratey, showing that for your brain to function at its peak; your body needs to move. The interactive activity, as well as supporting website for kids, encourages youths to live a healthy lifestyle. The website also provides parents with information and strategies to help jumpstart the conversation about the dangers of UNDERAGE DRINKING .
In Miami, Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen was joined by Susan Molinari of The Century Council, and Frank Saavedra, from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. “Ask, Listen Learn’s new fitness component is a great way to increase awareness of the negative consequences of underage drinking while highlighting the positive outcomes of making healthy choices,” Congresswoman Ros-Lehtinen said. “I’m happy to be here today to share the message with kids of the greater Miami area to, “Decir ‘SI’ a un estilo de vida saludable y ‘NO’ al uso de alcohol.”
